Self-Employed and 1099 Workers
Realtors, contractors, consultants, and shop owners from San Marco to the Beaches. With no employer plan behind you, I'll find coverage that matches your budget and your work.
Jacksonville and the Beaches
Jacksonville is where I grew up, and it still feels like home. I help individuals and families across Duval and Nassau counties find private health insurance that fits their budget and the care they need.
I lived in Jacksonville until I was 22, went to FSCJ, and did internships up near Fernandina, where my family still lives. That's why my number starts with 904. When you call or text it, you reach me, not a call center.
Before insurance, I spent my days as a physical therapist assistant. I've watched patients work through months of recovery after an injury or surgery, and I've seen the bills that come after. That's the lens I use when I look at a plan: what happens when you actually need it?

A plan you buy for yourself and your family belongs to you, so it stays put even if the business changes. Your premiums may also be tax deductible, so ask your tax pro.
Earn too much for a tax credit, and the Marketplace bills you its full rate. Healthy? A private plan could come in lower for comparable coverage.
Keeping your old work plan can be expensive. Before you sign up, let's see what else you qualify for.
If adding your spouse and kids at work costs too much, they might be better off on their own Marketplace plan with savings, or on a private policy.
In Jacksonville Beach and Atlantic Beach, roughly 40% of households bring in at least $150,000 a year, according to the Census Bureau. In Neptune Beach, about 1 in 5 workers is self-employed.
That matters because Marketplace tax credits have an income ceiling. For 2027 coverage, help stops once a couple earns more than $86,560 or a household of four earns more than $132,000. If you earn more, you pay full price for a Marketplace plan. For healthy households over that line, a private plan is worth pricing out.
Private plans set rates using your age, your county, and a health questionnaire. The insurer can decline an application, and you can usually apply in any month.
Marketplace plans accept everyone regardless of health, with tax credits tied to income. Sign-ups happen during open enrollment (November 1 through January 15 for 2027 coverage) or after a qualifying life event.
If you have ongoing health needs or qualify for a tax credit, the Marketplace may be the better choice. I'll tell you that plainly.
Northeast Florida has great care, but no plan includes every doctor. Baptist Medical Center Beaches runs the only hospital-based 24-hour ER at the beach, Baptist Medical Center Nassau serves Fernandina Beach, and Mayo Clinic and UF Health Jacksonville are in town. Before you choose a plan, I check your doctors, hospitals, and prescriptions. I can also add dental or vision coverage alongside your health plan.

Set up a free phone call. Most take 5 to 15 minutes, and there's no office to drive to.
I line up the plans next to each other and walk you through the differences.
You decide on your own timeline. After you enroll, you keep my direct number for questions and a yearly check-in.
Common Questions
No. We can do everything by phone and text. Call or text me at (904) 582-5637 whenever it's convenient.
Absolutely. Nassau County is where my family lives, so I'm glad to help in Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, and Yulee, along with Duval neighborhoods like Mandarin, Riverside, and the Beaches.
Not a cent. I'm paid by the insurance company, and using me doesn't change your premium.
Medicare isn't something I handle. My clients are all under 65, and if you're about to turn 65, I'll connect you with a Medicare specialist.
